Be/Wilder Writer was born from my long career as a book editor and my passion for exploring the nature of creativity, which I believe is directly tied to the state of our interior lives.
A large part of my journey as a writer and as a person who believes in God involves time outdoors. That began during COVID when the world was on lockdown and we had nowhere to go but outside. I felt drawn to the desert landscape, so I booked a flight to Albuquerque where I hiked and tested my physical limits, which seemed to unlock a deeper spirituality in my faith life as a Catholic. I fell in love with New Mexican night sky and heard the whispers of other desert dwellers like St. Antony the Great, Georgia O'Keefe, and Edward Abbey.
Be/Wilder Writer offers more than editorial and book publishing services. It starts a conversation on the more mysterious parts of our creativity and humanity.
The interior parts of ourselves--thoughts, feelings, and imagination--are where our stories percolate. They flow out of us, and when harnessed and directed, can increasing a deeper sense of communion with our Creator and each other.
